Isn't it a beautiful bridge? And I can tell you that the view from the bridge is just spectacular: the huge Pacific Ocean, Angel island, Treasure island and Alcatraz island. By the way, I am back! It has been more than a month since my last post without updating so I have plenty of things to tell and show but I just do not know where to start. Okay, to begin with, I am in one of the best city in the world; San Francisco, and I will be here until the next three adventurous months. Therefore, my next posts will be about my stay in the city, but let me show you some pictures taken during the trip to South California and Yosemite.

This is the best burger I have ever tried so far; Teriyaki mushroom burger from ¨Duffy's Tavern¨ in 282 High Street, Monterey. We found this place by accidance. We were in Monterey and would like to have some lunch. We decided to have a burger, because we had not tried any burger since we came to San Francisco. So that was the right time to grab some. We asked a man in the street and he named a restaurant, then we said thank you. But in ten seconds he came back to us; he said ¨Definitely Duffy's Tavern is the best place to have burgers¨ and he was absolutely right.
Esta es la mejor hamburguesa que he probado hasta ahora; hamburguesa Teriyaki con setas de ¨Duffy's Tavern¨ en 282 High Street, Monterrey. Encontramos este lugar por casualidad. It was such a real American bar/restaurant just like what I have seen in the Hollywood movies. What I like more about this place is the description of each burger in the menu. Then there was a lady who was serving us and she was a ton of fun, very friendly and generous too. So if you have a chance to be in Monterey, please ask where the ¨Duffy's Tavern¨ is and have THE burger.

¨Point Lobos¨ after eating 1lb burger plus fries, salad and a piece of cake and we did some walking to burn the calories. This place reminds me of Cantabria; mountain view next to the beach; beautiful, blue, green and cold.

The next days, we were off to Santa María, Santa Barbara, Santa Mónica, Los Angeles, Disney Anaheim, and San Diego driving down the coast highway through ¨Big Sur¨. The view along the way was stunning but be careful that the road is so narrow and curvy.

We had so much fun in San Diego zoo. It was quite an experience. It is so huge and so many things to see so that we needed almost the entire day in the zoo. I was amazed by the diversity of the animals and the plants that were on display and I enjoyed so much the green and the relaxed atmosphere of the zoo. I think I spent more time watching the little orangutan that was so active and playful. He did not stop rolling around on the ground and jumping while some animals just taking siesta.
Nos divertimos mucho en el zoo de San Diego. Fue toda una experiencia. Es tan grande y tantas cosas para ver, por eso necesitamos casi todo el día en el zoo. Me quedé sorprendida por la diversidad de los animales y las plantas que estaban en exhibición y me gustó mucho el verde y el ambiente relajado del zoo. Creo que pasé más tiempo mirando el pequeño orangután que fue muy activo y juguetón. No dejó de rodar por el suelo y saltó, mientras que algunos animales simplemente tomando la siesta.
After a day in the zoo and the next day in the
USS Midway museum, we just did not have much time to see more of San Diego. We went directly to Disneyland Anaheim the following day.
So what can I say about Disneyland; at the beginning we were so excited, everything was like a fairytale. Then it became very crowded; we had to be in a long, snaking queue to ride the attractions specially popular attractions. Anyway, we had a blast; and thanks to
¨Fastpass¨ we spent less time standing in line and managed to ride almost all the attractions we liked.
Después de un día en el zoo y al día siguiente en el museo USS Midway, no tuvimos mucho tiempo para ver más de San Diego. Fuimos directamente a Disneyland en Anaheim al día siguiente. Entonces, ¿qué puedo decir de Disneyland; al principio estabamos muy entusiasmados, todo era como en un cuento de hadas. Más tarde se llenaba de gente y tuvimos que estar en una larga fila para montar las atracciones sobre todo las que son populares. De todos modos, nos lo pasamos de maravilla, y gracias al ¨Fastpass¨ pasamos menos tiempo en la cola y logramos montar casi todas las atracciones que nos guston. The very last day of our trip was a quick visit to Hollywood boulevard then we went straight to San Francisco.
El último día de nuestro viaje fue una visita rápida de/a Hollywood Boulevard y luego volvimos directamente a San Francisco.
These are pictures from Yosemite National Park; a tremendous place with a breathtaking views. Two days we spent in the park was too short, we did not even make to see bears. I wish to come back someday, to do camping or to hike the incredible ¨Half Dome¨.
