Welcome 2012!

January 14, 2012

This is my first post in 2012. I don't know why but it took me a while to start posting again. Okay, the little bear picture is this year's  ¨little present¨ inside the ¨El roscón de reyes¨. I love roscón cake very very much. To tell you the the truth, I ate almost three entire cakes. It's a pity that you can buy it only on the 6th of January (Magic King's day). Next time, I would learn how to make it.
We spent Christmas, as usual, in Elche at Paulita's house. She's so nice that she let me sleep in her cute bedroom with Mickey Mouse sheet and bed cover.
We celebrated Christmas at Javi's beautiful woodhouse in ¨La Romana¨ Alicante.
This is ow so good; roasted chestnuts. Paulita, would you like some?
Having so much fun hiking...
...and the ¨paella¨ was being cooked while we were up in the mountains.
Pascual made this spectacular roasted chicken stuffed at the first day of the year. The chicken was great, the stuffed was even better and the gravy was the BEST.

Hi Weima! I was waiting for the first post in 2012 ;-)
I see that you and Pascual are importing some of the culinary american traditions, without loosing the spanish one. you must be quite attached to them, if you cook paella also up in the mountains after hiking :-)))
Greetings to both of you and happy 2012 from Matt as well!
